Are you a bachelor or master student with an Engineering background, interested to use your GitHub project(s) experience in an industrial environment? This apprentice internship could be interesting for you! Background informationASML is the world's leading manufacturer for semiconductor lithography machines, that are used to produce computer chips for both logic and memory. Our cutting edge technology is key to powering not just the current, but also the next generation of electronic devices. Metrology is a critical part of the lithography process, which involves measurement and characterization of various components and processes involved during chip production. Our advanced metrology techniques include high-precision sensors coupled to complex software algorithms, which enable accurate and reliable sub-nanometer measurements of critical parameters such as overlay, focus and critical dimension.Your assignmentThis internship focuses on the strategic enhancement of our existing software testing process. You will be instrumental in the development and integration of a GitHub Actions pipeline to automate testing of our MATLAB GUIDE-developed diagnostic and analysis tool. During this internship you will not only be involved in the technical development but you will also active participate in our team's agile practices. The goal of this assignment is to set up a sophisticated, automated testing infrastructure on GitHub Actions, enabling consistent and reliable testing outcomes for our diagnostic tool. You will:Acquire an in-depth understanding of our current functional code development and automated testing practices;Establish a GitHub Actions pipeline to automate the MATLAB GUIDE-based tool's testing process;Investigate and potentially integrate cloud-based visual comparison tools suitable for our testing needs;Engage in regular one-on-one mentorship and team stand-ups, contributing insights and progress updates;Create and deliver a formal PowerPoint presentation outlining the development process, results, and actionable insights for future automation strategies.Your profileTo be the perfect match for this internship, you:Are a bachelor or master student with an educational background in Engineering (such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering);Have experience with Code/GUI/Apps development, GitHub and GitHub actions, Automatic Unit Testing and CICD;Show previous projects hosted in your own GitHub repository;Preferably have experience with MATLAB, Python and MS Office programming;Possess great communication skills, take initiative and can work independently. This assignment is suitable for a bachelor or master student looking for an apprentice internship. You should be available for minimum 5 months, 3 days per week (minimum 2 days on-site). The start date is as June 2024 onwards. Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.Change the world – one nanometer at a timeBecome an intern at a Dutch company that’s a global industry leader. We manufacture the complex lithography machines that chipmakers use to produce integrated circuits, or computer chips. What we do is at the heart of all the electronic devices that keep us informed, entertained and connected. Every day, you use electronics that simply wouldn’t exist without our machines.Behind ASML’s innovations are engineers who think ahead. The people who work at our company include some of the most creative minds in physics, electrical engineering, mathematics, chemistry, mechatronics, optics, mechanical engineering, computer science and fields which are not technical oriented. We believe we can always do better. We believe the winning idea can come from anyone. We love what we do – not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard.Students - getting ready for real-world R&DWe’re a global team of about 39,000 people of 140 different nationalities and counting. Headquartered in Europe’s top tech hub, the Brainport Eindhoven region in the Netherlands, our operations are spread across Europe, Asia and the US.In such an environment, your colleagues may be sitting next door, or they could be thousands of kilometers away in a different country – or even working for a different company. An internship at ASML is the opportunity to get to know not only the world of industrial-strength R&D, but yourself – you’ll discover just what excites you most. Will you design a part of the machine, or make sure it gets built to the tightest possible specifications? Will you write software that drives the system to its best performance, or work side-by-side with the engineers of our customers in a fab, optimizing a system to the requirements of the customer? How will you be part of progress?Diversity and inclusionASML is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values and respects the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce.
