Then you might be the strategic and operational force we're looking for.Reach your full potential as Head of Transport and PlanningIn this role, you will shape our transport strategy and manage daily operations within a dynamic FMCG environment. You'll lead a team of 7 colleagues (Dutch and English speaking) and be responsible for the entire road transport network, both national and international.You'll ensure efficient planning and maintain an optimal balance between inbound and outbound flows. You effectively distribute the workload and make the best use of available capacity. You will work daily with a broad customer portfolio, transport carriers, and internal departments. With your vision and leadership, you will continuously improve processes and work toward building a scalable and sustainable transport organization.Thanks to your experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and your affinity for digitalization, you'll contribute to optimizing and future-proofing our transport processes. At the same time, you'll be able to engage with partners across the supply chain at a strategic level and elevate your team to a higher professional standard.Your day-to-day activities
  • Lead national and international transport operations and ensure efficient goods flows.
  • Optimize routes, processes, and costs while maintaining service quality and focusing on sustainability (such as CO₂ reduction).
  • Translate transport data into concrete improvement actions and performance reports.
  • Contribute to the implementation and further development of a TMS and digital planning systems.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the team, ensuring effective collaboration with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
QualificationsThis is you
You are a solution-oriented and communicative professional with a solid logistics foundation and a clear vision. You're hands-on when needed, but also capable of providing strategic direction. You approach challenges creatively and work with flexibility and focus.You:
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within road transport or logistics.
  • Operate at a higher professional education (HBO) level.
  • Have an active network in national and international road transport.
  • Have experience in team development and performance coaching.
  • Understand (inter)national laws and regulations related to transport and export.
  • Have demonstrable involvement in TMS implementation or optimization.
  • Possess strong skills in planning, data analysis, and process improvement.
  • Are proficient in English (Dutch is a plus).
  • Have an affinity for sustainability in logistics processes.
