Full-time | Permanent ContractAbout the RoleAs a National Account Manager – Food Service, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with our key national customers within the Contract Catering and Food Service sector in the Netherlands. Your primary focus is to retain and grow existing accounts, increase profitability, and ensure our customers receive excellent service across all touchpoints.You will act as the strategic business partner for our clients, capable of translating Diversey's value propositions into concrete business benefits. This is a farmer role, managing a portfolio of high-impact, complex national accounts where relationship management, strategic planning, and commercial execution go hand in hand.You will collaborate closely with our Key Account Support team, Customer Service, Finance, Logistics, and Technical Service, while also maintaining alignment with International Account Directors for global clients.Key Responsibilities🔹Key Account Management
- Own the HQ-level relationship with key national accounts in the food service and catering sector.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews to track performance, identify opportunities, and manage strategic initiatives.
- Lead contract renewals, price negotiations, upselling and cross-selling.
- Analyze and optimize profitability (e.g. mix improvement, rebate management, pricing).
- Ensure proper rollout of new initiatives, products, and service offerings across customer sites.
- Expand share of wallet and safeguard long-term partnerships.
- Manage your sales pipeline in Salesforce: ensure opportunity quality, track next steps, and improve win rates.
- Regularly perform white spot analyses to identify growth opportunities.
- Meet or exceed your commercial targets.
- Track financial KPIs and take data-driven actions to improve performance.
- Maintain and monitor SLA commitments through scheduled client visits and account planning.
- Coordinate internal resources (Key Account Support, Technical Service) to ensure outstanding service.
- Act as a central point of contact (internal and external) – you are the link between the customer and our organization.
- Update international stakeholders (Account Directors) regularly on local developments.
- Develop tailored strategic account plans with clear goals, actions, and metrics.
- Understand and navigate customer dynamics, including political/organizational complexity within large, international clients.
- Anticipate risks and opportunities in the market and adjust plans accordingly.
- Facilitate customer training sessions, ensuring correct use of products and systems.
- Contribute to internal improvement projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and service delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) or equivalent working and thinking level.
- Several years of experience in Key Account Management, Sales, or a similar commercial B2B role – ideally within food service, contract catering, or hygiene solutions.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify and act on business opportunities.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships at multiple stakeholder levels – from operational teams to C-level.
- Strong analytical skills – able to interpret data and translate it into actionable plans.
- Comfortable working in a complex and dynamic environment, with multiple stakeholders (both local and international).
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
- Proficient with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), MS Office, and business reporting tools.
