A role where legal expertise directly contributes to responsible growth in an international pharmaceutical company.This position plays a central role in embedding ethics and complianceThe PositionAs Senior Legal Counsel you are part of Synthon's Legal department and engaged in a wide range of legal activities. Your main focus is ethics and compliance, where you will strengthen and further professionalize the company's framework. You ensure that integrity and responsible business practices are firmly embedded across the organization.Your work includes drafting policies, implementing procedures, conducting investigations and advising on diverse compliance topics. You will also prepare training materials and provide training to increase awareness within the company.In addition, you contribute to other legal activities, such as drafting and negotiating sales and supply chain agreements and advising on various legal matters within Synthon's pharmaceutical business.You will collaborate with global business teams, staff departments and the Ethics & Compliance Committee, and report to the General Counsel.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance governance and risk management
- Enhance and implement compliance policies and risk frameworks
- Conduct risk assessments and monitor mitigation strategies
- Advise on compliance risks, trends and best practices
- Develop and lead training sessions for different audiences
- Promote a culture of integrity through clear communication and role modeling
- Provide day-to-day legal and compliance support globally, including contract compliance and trade practices
- Draft and negotiate sales and supply chain agreements
- Advise on legal matters within the pharmaceutical business
- Master degree in Law, at least 7 years' experience in an international environment (pharma experience is a plus)
- Broad compliance knowledge (e.g. code of conduct, ABAC, sanctions, competition law, fraud, GDPR, whistleblowing)
- Experience drafting and negotiating international contracts
- Strong communicator, able to interact at all levels and connect easily with others
- Proactive, accurate and capable of managing multiple projects
- Strong planning skills, effective at meeting deadlines
- Excellent command of Dutch and English, written and spoken
