Then apply now: we are looking for a Development Assistant Mechatronics for the Equipment Prototyping team of the Mechatronics Projects department at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven!Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering is responsible for the specification and the design of the ASML products. The Mechatronics Projects department within Mechatronics & Measurement Systems Cluster is responsible for specification, design, integration and qualification of the mechatronics sub-systems and components which are fitted into ASML end products. The main focus is on nanometer-accuracy positioning of high-speed components for transporting/positioning of wafers and reticles and adjustments of optical elements. Mechanical and electrical design, control & dynamics engineering, thermal engineering and prototyping are part of this department’s main competences.Role and responsibilitiesYou will join a team of development assistants who support the development, creation and testing of prototypes, test setups and functional models in the mechatronics domain in an innovative development & engineering environment. Our main goal is to provide the hardware to prove concept feasibility and to verify and validate crucial milestones in research & development projects.Job responsibilities include:
  • Development assistancy: design, create and assemble parts, prototypes, test setups and functional models in the mechanical and/or mechatronics domain.
  • Assembly, integration & test support
  • Create/manufacture parts (milling/turning, sheet metal etc.)
  • Contributing to design reviews
  • Delivering “after sales” service to (y)our creations.
In addition you:
  • Ensure pro-active communication with all stakeholders regarding progress
  • Stimulate active knowledge sharing within the team
  • Ensure that applicable regulations and standards are met.
  • Contribute to department-related activities with respect to lab & workshop management
Education and experienceTo be successful in this role you have the following skills/knowledge:
  • Secondary vocational education or Higher professional education (MBO or Associate Degree, level 4-5) in a technical direction (or similar obtained through experience)
  • Several years of work experience in a similar position or working environment
  • Able to discuss support requests with the (internal) customer and propose solutions
  • Are pro-active, analytical and creative in your search for solutions
  • Able to work with technical product documentation but you don’t step back when you have to realize something from scratch
  • Knowledge of/experience with turning, milling of materials and sheet metal
  • Knowledge of/experience with assembly work and construction techniques
  • Knowledge of materials and their field of application
  • Able to work in a cleanroom
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Have experience with CAD tools such as Inventor, Solid Works, NX (or willing to learn this)
  • Can act in a dynamic & challenging development & engineering environment
  • Have good communication skills
  • Are a team player
  • Willing to take an extra step where necessary
  • Master the Dutch and English language in word and writing.
