- Develop the sourcing strategy of Particle Optics products and services considering price, volume, share and profitability. Ensure the product portfolio addresses market needs and continuous improvements where needed to maintain and/or improve market penetration and share position.
- Conduct voice of the customer activities, monitor market intelligence, key market trends and competition offerings to develop and implement proactive strategies to strengthen the product line’s business advantage.
- Define promotional focus areas and a sourcing strategy to increase revenue and margin including product pricing with commercial teams.
- Lead the supplier qualification, RFP, supplier selection, contract development, implementation, compliance, and ongoing supply base management process.
- Analyze the category supplier performance data to find opportunities for supplier performance improvement and to establish continuous improvement goals.
- Actively participate in supplier business reviews to ensure both parties meet obligations under the terms of agreement, including performance standards.
- Drive negotiations for global agreements aligned with category strategy.
- Synthesize conclusions from R&D and product management to communicate key findings to other key partners and drive action. Evaluate assigned products for obsolescence and communicate recommendations for efficient product management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to ensure all category sourcing activities are aligned to a common set of goals and priorities.
- Establish category plans and priorities globally and ensure alignment with divisional business priorities.

- Bachelor’s Degree required; Graduate Degree in Business (Preferred), Finance, and/or technical field.
- Minimum 7 years’ procurement/sourcing experience with increasing global responsibility and experience in a large matrixed company environment, minimum 7 years’ experience in the assigned category.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience leading and managing procurement teams with a focus on mentoring, coaching and performance management.
- Strong leadership and effective business partnering capabilities – influence without authority.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a complex organization.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of the strategic sourcing and category management process.
- Strong project management skills.
- Require ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding capacity to make decisions or recommendations based on potentially incomplete information.
- Must be able to work across all functions and levels of an organization.
- International experience (plus) – working experience in different countries/regions/languages.
