Engineering is organized as a matrix with 8 product segments and consists of six main disciplines: System Engineering (~300 employees), Mechanical & Electrical Engineering (~130 employees), Software Engineering (~300 employees), Radar Front End Engineering (~90 employees), Supportability Engineering (~60 employees) and Engineering Delivery Management.From an Engineering perspective, each segment is headed by an Engineering Manager for the Segment (EMS). In the segment Systems, we are now looking for an Engineering Manager for the Segment (EMS) Systems.About your future jobThe Engineering Manager for a Segment is responsible for the total performance of the engineers in that segment in relation to delivery in line with PSM set strategies, abiding engineering working methods. It starts with estimates for bids and goes via execution (development) all the way to the final qualification of the products. For this, the EMS Systems has about 15 Work Package Managers and Engineering Development Managers reporting to her/him.There are also 3 Team Managers systems engineering reporting to the EMS (who in turns manages about 15 Systems Engineers). As EMS, she/he is accountable for the On Time Delivery of the Development (D-OTD) as well as the realization of the developments within budget.The EMS Systems:is a member of the Engineering Management Teamis a member of the Systems Management Teamis in charge of around 15 WPMs, IVVQMs and EDMsis accountable for the engineering commitments made during the bid processis accountable for the delivery in her/his segment with respect to schedule (on time delivery), cost and qualityis responsible for staffing teams with WPMs, IVVQMs and EDMs in such a way that compliant delivery can take place within agreed cost and planningis accountable for the short- / mid-term S&OP demand resource needshas 3 team managers (System Engineering) reporting to her/himhas a dual reporting line: to the Engineering Manager and Product Segment ManagerWhy you would be a good matchYou have a proven experience as a line manager and/or program manager working in a highly technical environment. As an EMS:you have a Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or equivalentyou are a motivated person who has a proven track record in the Engineering and Project domain, demonstrating the principles of ownershipyou are target driven, result oriented and able to coach the Team Managers and Engineering Delivery / Work Package Managers accordinglyyou will set the direction, provide energy and connect with your team and stakeholdersyou are proactive, take the initiative, manage the expectations and are a solid reporteryou are an excellent communicator and fluent in spoken and written Dutch or EnglishWhat's in it for youA challenging job in a great team within our high-tech, innovative work environment.
