This Shared Service Center offers employment to over 550 employees, with 40 nationalities, who speak 34 languages.We are looking for a VAT Compliance Officer (Grow-in to Analyst) to join the Corporate Tax Department.How will you contribute to the success of DHL?The Corporate Tax department is responsible for all corporate income and indirect (transactional) tax matters within DPDHL. Global responsibilities are addressed by International Taxes and Indirect Taxes, whereas regional responsibilities are organized by area, led by Regional Heads. You will be working within a global network of Corporate Tax colleagues and as part of the Global VAT Compliance team, you'll fulfill all VAT requirements.In your role, your main accountability is to prepare and timely submit domestic/foreign VAT returns or Tax reports for several EMEA entities within your own portfolio. All your actions are compliant and in line with our DPDHL internal control framework (ICF/ICON). In case of audit queries or TAX audits, you will prepare and analyze data for auditors or Tax authorities.Other key tasks are:
  • Follow-up on VAT refunds;
  • Reconcile the VAT GL-account to the VAT returns and review VAT reconciliation to VAT revenue figures;
  • Keep track of new or changed VAT laws and regulations and analyze the impact of these changes;
  • Support in the onboarding of new countries to SSC VAT compliance;
  • Responsible for the correct application of the ICF framework including complete stored evidence on executed controls;
  • Support in country/company projects for SSC VAT compliance team;
Do you have what it takes?You have a educational background in Accounting or TAX and you have a solid background of VAT knowledge. You know how to apply your theoretical knowledge into practice. Preferably you have 2-3 years of experience in finance accounting or in a similar role!Key abilities we are looking for:
  • Strong analytical and communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • You have an eye for detail and you work accurate;
  • Knowledge of ERP systems like Oracle, SAP or SUN are a plus;
  • Excellent Microsoft knowledge;
  • Experience in financial accounting processes within OtC, RtR, PtPand IC and financial accounting for taxes;
  • Excellent command of the English language.
