Your tasks include specifying and documenting requirements, implementing and simulating VHDL code as well as testing the firmware in test setups and in the machine module. As a firmware designer you are the first point of contact for VHDL-related questions . To get things clear, you are able to listen well and ask questions. You have a broad interest and experience in the technology of firmware but also hardware and software for embedded systems design. You are able to make well-founded design choices together with your colleagues. You will make use of best practices and industry standards.Furthermore:Bachelor's degree or master's degree in electrical engineering.At least 5 years of industrial experience in VHDL for FPGA design (VHDL RTL, synthesis, compilation and timing closure).Experience with FPGA design flow (Altera Quartus/Xilinx ISE) and functional & gate level simulation using Mentor Modelsim and/or Questa Sim.Experience with FPGA debugging tools (ILA ChipScope, Signaltap) and lab equipment.Familiar with HW development tools (e.g. Spice, Matlab) Familiar with programming languages (e.g. C/C++/#, Java, Python);Affinity to work and discuss with hardware and software engineers on a technical level.Team player, analytical, pragmatic, creative and pro-active.Good communication skills and proficient in English.Good in time management and setting priorities.Your daily responsibilities includeAs a firmware designer you will be working together with your project team, where you are the VHDL expert.
