Manager Ocean Freight Destination LogisticsFulltime: 38 hoursAt Action, we are expanding fast and our Supply Chain plays a key role in supporting that growth. The Inbound Supply Chain department ensures a predictable and reliable goods flow from around the globe to our European distribution centres. As Manager Ocean Freight Destination Logistics, you will be responsible for orchestrating container transport from global ports to our network in Europe. Ready to make a real impact on an international scale?Daily Actions:In this role, you will lead a team of 7 colleagues and report to the Manager Supply Chain Inbound. You will oversee a complex logistics network involving 140+ port-pairs and manage a variety of transport modes to deliver containers to the right location, on time.You'll work closely with orchestration partners and logistics service providers while developing scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions that support our unique value proposition: low prices and a surprising assortment for our customers.You are responsible to:
  • Set up and maintain an efficient container delivery process across Europe using various external logistics providers
  • Manage and steer orchestration partners and logistics service providers in line with KPIs and contractual agreements
  • Implement the control tower concept, driving performance through automation and exception-based operations
  • Lead change management and continuous improvement for systems, processes, and people, ensuring a smooth transition to more tactical ways of working
  • Maintain strong relationships with several logistical partners
  • Drive performance conversations, escalate issues effectively, and follow up with mitigation plans
  • Lead, coach, and develop your team by setting clear goals, giving constructive feedback, and encouraging growth
This is you:You are a strategic logistics leader who thrives in a dynamic and complex international environment. With a strong grasp of supply chain networks and service provider management, you can zoom in on operational details while keeping a firm eye on the bigger picture. You are results-driven, data-oriented, and capable of leading your team through transformation with clarity and inspiration.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Analytics, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience within Supply Chain preferably in retail and/or 4PL/3PL logistics retail or freight forwarding
  • Experience with SAP Transport Management (TM) is an advantage
  • Strong leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and operational excellence
  • Excellent contract and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in English; basic proficiency in Dutch is a plus
