- Model the onboard satellite gNB network using 3GPP NRMs, specifically:
- CU/DU functional split (NRM: TS 28.541 / 28.562 / 28.622)
- Transport and slice-level supervision (TS 28.554, TS 28.557)
- Capability to produce high end software architecture documents and being familiar with the C4 methodology for reporting and communicating architecture diagrams and decisions
- Define how the MCC reacts to OISL load, link status, or failures, based on telemetry KPIs.
- Provide Software Design Document of the OISL Simulator
- Provide definition of the ICD of the OISL Simulator
- Document the necessary input/output of the OISL Simulator
- Collaborate with the simulation engineer to integrate these models into a working prototype.
- Provide clear C4 Diagrams of the architecture of the the OISL simulator
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle processes
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision in complex environments, e.g. project or matrix organizations
- Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing project requirements and environments
- Ability to think strategically and align project goals with organizational objectives
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of 3GPP specification and relevant standards
- Experience working with telco companies and have designed and built software for telco companies
- Communication skills to share the broader design principles with more junior members
- Capability to organize and drive a small team of software engineers
- Mastery of 3GPP TS 28.x series (especially NRM for CU/DU: TS 28.541, 28.622, 28.554)
- Deep knowledge of RAN architecture (CU/DU/DU pool, Xn management)
- Familiarity with ORAN SMO concepts and O1/O2 interface supervision
- Master’s degree in computer engineering or software engineering or like field (a combination of experience and education will be considered)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in Software Design and Analysis
- Experience with OSS, RAN orchestration, or 3GPP-compliant supervision systems
- Understanding of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) is a strong asset
- Comfortable with modeling complex systems using C4
- Fluency in English, any other EU language is considered an asset
- Eligibility for ESA/EU SECRET personnel security clearances is essential. Candidates must be prepared to undergo a security clearance procedure, as this position may require holding such clearance
- Willing to work at least 60% onsite from office
- Travel as required for project realization purposes
