Job summary:Tasks: Lead construction and engineering of composite tenders and boatsProjects: Custom-made luxury tenders and boats (7 to 20 meters)Company: Specialist yacht builder with dedicated composite facilitiesMain requirements: Hands-on experience managing composite boat construction, 4+ years of experience in basic & detail engineeringYour opportunity:As a Lead Engineer Composite Boats, you will have a key role in the engineering and overall construction process of high-end custom-built composite yachts from initial design through to final delivery. You will provide technical direction, ensure efficient collaboration between engineering, subcontractors and production.What you will do:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams during yacht design & construction
  • Oversee engineering processes from initial design concepts through detailed engineering and final delivery
  • Collaborate closely with the Purchasing Department to ensure timely design and ordering of yacht components
  • Maintain and regularly update the master project model
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, and internal project teams
  • Ensure a structured and organized engineering process from start to finish
  • Act as the main technical contact throughout all project phases

What you already have:
  • +4 years of experience in composite yacht building industry
  • A BSc. or MSc. in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong command of Solidworks; experience with Rhino and AutoCAD advantageous
  • Ability to manage teams, provide guidance, and ensure high-quality engineering execution
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients
  • Available for full-time employment (40 hours/week) in Leiden
