Together, we shape the evolution.The OpportunityJoin our dynamic international Database Administrator team as a Database Engineer (Oracle/PostgreSQL), where you'll play a crucial role in supporting billions of payments, POS and ATM transactions processed annually across Europe. Based in Utrecht, Netherlands, you'll be part of equensWorldline, a central pillar of the wider Worldline Group, providing technical expertise for highly performing, secured and resilient database systems in our rapidly evolving payments market.Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise, project and production support for the Oracle database eco-system
  • Drive architecture design on customer projects and act as a trusted advisor on Oracle database solutions
  • Deploy, upgrade, maintain and optimize Oracle database and knowledge on monitoring via Enterprise Manager Cloud Control
  • Implement high-availability (HA) and disaster-recovery (DRP) architectures using Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Golden Gate data replication
  • Oracle database incident troubleshooting and performance tuning skills including SQL, PL/SQL, system, storage and network configuration, as well as tracing facilities
  • Support Oracle database migrations and operations in mixed on-premise, private cloud and public cloud environments
  • Facilitate and participate in all phases of project lifecycle from requirements gathering to post-production support
  • Deliver management and automation tools used across the company and provide internal training on Oracle database technologies
Who Are We Looking ForWe look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up and show what's next - people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:
  • 3+ years of working experience with Oracle database in production environments.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle database (19c) with production support experience in multi-service, cross-regional distributed environments.
  • Strong Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Data Guard, RAC, ASM and RMAN expertise in business-critical environments.
  • Good practical knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL languages including performance tuning.
  • Working knowledge of Linux (RHEL) operating systems and task automation (shell scripting).
  • Ability to work in an international multi-cultural environment with structured communication skills.
  • High degree of initiative, accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Flexibility to work outside office hours and participate in 24x7 on-call DBA weekly rotating team role.
  • Professional proficiency in English language is mandatory.
