We are looking for an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer to design and validate EMC-compliant electrical and cabling systems for advanced ships.FunctieAs an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and validating the power distribution and cabling systems that keep vessels operating safely and reliably.You will work closely with colleagues from multiple disciplines, as well as suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring that your designs are seamlessly integrated into the overall ship design. From the earliest concept phase through to commissioning, your expertise will ensure that all systems function together without interference.Specific duties in this role include:
  • Ensure EMC compliance across all power distribution and cabling designs.
  • Support the Integrated Topside Design (ITD) to guarantee interference-free operation of critical (military) systems.
  • Prepare and execute test and validation plans, from simulations to full-scale trials.
  • Review and integrate designs from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Contribute to standards, guidelines, and proposals for future projects.
Voorwaarden
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related).
  • 3+ years of experience with complex electrical system design, ideally in maritime, offshore, or industrial sectors.
  • Solid knowledge of EMC-compliant design.
  • Experience working in model-based systems engineering (V-model).
  • Strong command of both English, both written and oral.
