- Lead design projects for aerospace components and systems from the conceptual phase through manufacturing to integration and testing
- Generate 3D CAD models, drawings, schematics, bills of material, and other related documentation required for manufacturing, integration and testing
- Deliver technical documentation including any engineering calculations, analysis and assumptions required to substantiate your design decisions and solutions
- Prepare and participate in design reviews
- Manage suppliers and manufacturers by addressing any technical questions and resolving any issues which may arise during the manufacturing process
- Select standard parts, fasteners, equipment and consumables following best practices and industry standards
- Contribute to the DMU and configuration management
- BSc., MSc. in mechanical or aerospace engineering. Technician qualifications with substantial experience would also be considered.
- +5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the aerospace industry.
- Strong knowledge of the manufacturing and assembly processes - machining, sheet metal forming, composites and additive manufacturing.
- Excellent CAD and PLM knowledge - Part design, DWGs, DMU management.
- Good engineering material properties knowledge.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and analytical skills - dimensioning calculations, load path definitions, basic stress calculations, energy and power.
- Seal and fastener design knowledge.
- Auxiliary component selection – general electro/mechanical components.
- ISO GD&T knowledge required.
- Fluent in English as working language. German language is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Siemens tool suite - NX, and TeamCenter PLM system, would be a plus.
- Experience with Metallic and composite structures design would be beneficial.
- Good to have experience with hydraulics, fuel systems and component design.
