Job Description:The position of Manufacturing Engineering Manager is a key leadership role that comes with responsibility for the successful day to day running of the manufacturing and engineering department, site improvements as well as shaping overall business strategy.Our Emmen site manufactures aluminum enclosures that are produced in the in-house Foundry and machined. The semi-finished products, intended for central heating systems, are further assembled in other European Resideo sites, and find their way to the various boiler manufacturers in Europe and abroad.You will be responsible for a team of process, manufacturing and tooling engineers in our foundry and machining areas, and tasked with improving OEE, reducing costs alongside owning and resolving quality issues. The successful candidate will also play a key role in the future automation of the site.This is a fantastic opportunity to use your engineering skills to develop and implement new steps to improve processes that will continually improve the competitiveness of our manufacturing.JOB DUTIES:
  • Provides leadership to a team of engineers responsible for process improvements.
  • Key member of the site management team
  • You will be co-responsible for the strategic plan, be key player in all projects, and increase productivity
  • Preparation and management of approved budget. Preparation and monitoring of approved project budget
  • You will participate in and/or lead European projects
  • You are responsible for the overall improvements of the manufacturing processes and activities in the areas of safety, quality, supplies and costs.
  • You are responsible for the organisation regarding moulds, core parts etc.
  • You will develop / implement new process steps and training and work on continuous improvement of production processes
  • Responsible for the safety aspects of the projects/processes through Gembas, SOS, MOC etc.
  • You control and improve standards based on comparative studies and establish 'best in class' production processes for all products. (Lean tools)
  • You ensure optimal operational capacity of machines and systems
  • You stay abreast of the latest technological trends, developments and applications through benchmarking
  • Close involvement in TPM events and support the implementation.
YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Degree in a technical engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory / leadership role
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English
  • Experience working with metals (aluminum), experience working in a machine shop or foundry
