Equipment coordinatorUp to 2 year fixed term contract / full time(This is a 2 year project position with funding secured for this period, the role is initially offered on a 12 month contract basis with possibility of extension to at least 2 years (subject to local labour law).Location: The successful candidate may be based in a country where one of the independent National/Regional Greenpeace organisations (NRO’s) is located. As our Technical Operations Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient use of all campaign-related technical equipment, both on land and at sea. From coordinating procurement to providing expert advice and support, you will be instrumental in driving forward our campaign priorities and objectives.Equipment Management: Coordinate the procurement, logistics, and maintenance of campaign-related equipment. Develop strategic plans and SOPs aligned with our global priorities.Campaign Operations Support: Engage with internal stakeholders to align equipment usage with campaign requirements. Advise on achievable goals and requirements.R&D: Contribute to technical discussions and foster research and development initiatives to enhance our operations globally.Budget Management: Monitor and authorize expenditure to ensure cost-effectiveness and strategic use of allocated budgets.Crew training advice: Relevant crew training advice for the operation and maintenance of equipment.For further information about this role, please see the full job description by clickingWhat we’re looking for:Remember no one has every skill or experience needed for this role and you’ll have the opportunity to learn a lot from the team. We believe someone who has a few of these is well suited to exceed in this role:Experience in technical equipment procurement and commercial shipment of the same.Experience in coordinating marine technical support.Experience in coordinating equipment logistics across different regions with varying logistical challenges.Expertise with the technical management of maritime and land based operations equipmentExperience in budget management.Good interpersonal skills and experience in operating within an international and multicultural environment.Ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment.Willingness to take personal initiative and responsibility and to find novel solutions to problems.Fluency in written and spoken English.Demonstrable support for and belief in the Greenpeace network core aims and values.Education: University level education in ICT, Electrical or Electronic engineering, or equivalent by experience (RO/ETO, electrical engineer, etc.) is preferred.Digital literacy skills; the ability to learn and utilize our digital platforms to successfully perform the role function (familiarity with G-Suite, Slack and Zoom is an advantage).What you can expect:By joining Greenpeace International, you'll be part of a diverse and passionate team dedicated to making a difference.
