Job Title Corporate Legal CounselJob Description Summary Corporate Counsel NetherlandsIn this role you will be reporting to managing corporate counsel for Germany, Benelux and Sweden. The role comes down to facilitation of legal advice to the Dutch leadership and its business stakeholders.Job DescriptionYou will provide the legal review of contractual agreements for the various service lines e.g. Asset Services, Occupier Services, Integrated Facilities Management; Project & Development Services; Valuations, Real Estate Brokerage and Advisory. Furthermore, you support the Managing Corporate Counsel as well as Risk and Compliance EMEA, and the broader business and global legal team, where necessary.This role will advise on both contentious and non-contentious matters and will support on M&A and other corporate transactional work.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop a thorough understanding of and familiarity with C&Ws business, its people, skill lines, markets, facilities, customers, and competitors and use this knowledge in providing guidance and counsel to C&W;Facilitate the business objectives of C&W EMEA by providing practical, timely and effective legal support, while minimizing potential legal risks;Prepare responses to RFPs, negotiate, draft and finalise commercial client contracts for a wide variety of services;Negotiate and draft commercial supply contracts, including licensing, consulting and service agreements;Liaise with counsel and business partners globally and manage legal advice from other jurisdictions in relation to international agreements;Manage, negotiate and resolve claims and disputes, including coordinating with external counsel and insurers;Identify, monitor, research and resolve issues relating to commercial contracts liaising with external partners and senior internal staff as necessary to ensure that risk to the business is minimised;Maintain and manage internal controls, delegations of authority, governance and processes relating to approvals for the signing of contracts and other strategic decisions and actions;Prepare material and provide training for commercial teams across the business;Development of precedent database and assist with the supervision and development of junior team members.Required profileMinimum BSc degree in Law or J.D. degree or other relevant Law background;Minimum 3 years of proven experience as legal counsel in preferably real estate industry;Experience of handling and resolving legal disputes;Exceptional business and commercial acumen aimed at delivering advice in a fast-paced commercial environment;Construction and/or Real Estate experience is desirable;Contract knowledge is required to be practical, commercial and current;Negotiation and drafting skills must be of an exceptional standard;Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate and negotiate with internal and external contacts;Strong judgement to anticipate and identify areas of risk;The ability to work alone as well as with colleagues from a non-legal background is required;Excellent command of written and verbal Dutch;Excellent command of written and verbal English.What Do We OfferAn informal working atmosphere in which you work together with enthusiastic and inspiring colleagues with years of experience in commercial real estate;Plenty of room for own initiatives, a lot of independence and responsibility plus various growth opportunities;A pleasant workplace in modern offices in Amsterdam and Utrecht;Hybrid working model;Good secondary benefits including 31 days of leave, laptop and iPhone, 8.33% holiday pay, bonus scheme, pension scheme, employer's contribution to group health insurance and company fitness;Cozy company and team outings!Who Are WeWe At Cushman & Wakefield, combine a renewed knowledge network with innovation, entrepreneurship and deep-rooted local market knowledge.
