Job Description :Job Title : Transfer Pricing ManagerLocation: AmsterdamAbout the FunctionGlobal Tax is a global function, with specialists currently based in markets around the world including, but not limited to, the UK, US, Netherlands, Ireland, Hungary, and Colombia. Diageo’s approach to tax seems to enable and support our business strategy and balance the various interests of our stakeholders. Transfer Pricing is central to the management of Diageo’s global tax strategy.About the roleThe purpose of this role is to provide specialist technical expertise to enable Global tax to deliver the global TP agenda and key strategic TP projects whilst identifying opportunities to improve and simplify ways of working.Role ResponsibilitiesSupport the execution of the global TP agenda as follows:
  • Taking ownership for setting the strategy and providing subject matter expertise in relation to ongoing TP (and, where relevant customs) audits.
  • Taking the lead and / or working with the TP Associate Director / Senior Manager to deliver strategic TP projects, APAs and provide specialist input into business lead projects, specifically in the Netherlands.
  • Taking the lead on ensuring that TP compliance obligations, including the annual review / update of our TP documentation, are met in partnership with external advisers.
  • Supporting in ensuring Diageo’s TP model is compliant, balanced and accomplished appropriately by the business.
  • Providing the business with mentorship with respect to the Permanent Establishment and broader TP implications of remove working / relocation requests.
  • Stay up to date with global transfer pricing developments and where required make recommendations and how to integrate changes into Diageo’s policies and procedures.
  • Supporting the TP Manager – Operations in the execution of our TP policies where appropriate.
  • Owning the TP compliance agenda including TP documentation
  • Management of TP audits (including the development and ownership of our response strategy) with cross border implications
  • Supporting the delivery of key strategic TP and business led projects
  • Providing specialist PE mentorship to the business
  • Supporting the TP Operations team in relation to implementation of our TP policies by providing technical advice.
You will play a meaningful role in supporting the setting the strategies and policies as well as responding to ad-hoc queries that will impact the pricing of finished goods, inter-company royalties, technical service fees, financial transactions, services, and other related party transactions, which act as the internal framework for all external Group sales. In this way, the role will have direct consequences for the financial performance of all of Diageo’s operating entities including the profits recognised across our supply chain and the quantum of the direct and indirect taxes that we pay.In this role, you will also have responsibility for mitigating / handling costs associated with historic TP risks and challenges. This includes setting the strategy and provide direct support to markets in dealing with and responding to TP audits from tax authorities in all jurisdictions.What you'll bring
  • ACA, CTA qualified, ADIT or equivalent economics-based qualification with at least 5 years of transfer pricing experience in a consultancy/advisory business and/or an in-house tax department
  • In-depth understanding of the arm’s length principle, the OECD/UN TP Guidelines or business economics principles
  • Strong understanding of accounting and tax principles and reporting process
  • Commercially astute, analytically strong strategic problem solver with the ability to evaluate sophisticated financial data and concepts into clear and simple messages
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills that facilitate effective networking and relationship building.
  • Inquisitive, patient, and open to new insights and ways of solving a problem
