Field Application Engineer - UPS & Datacenter Solutions

• Responsible for electrical design, with the ability to understand other disciplines involved in data center solutions (e.g., HVAC, structural, IT infrastructure, security systems) to ensure comprehensive tender responses
• Collaborate with the sales team to prepare quotations, present solutions, and support solution development
• Coordinate with internal departments such as product management, procurement, and service to define technical solutions that best meet customer requirements
• Deep understanding of UPS systems and the ability to define appropriate solutions based on project or tender specifications
• Battery sizing for Li-ion and VRLA technologies, selecting the optimal battery type based on technical and commercial criteria
• Design and cost estimation of LV switchboards, including development of single-line diagrams
• Design and costing of power busways, with a solid understanding of busway products
• Work with local partners to arrange additional services required by the project or tender
• Develop various design documents including power schematics, power calculations, general floor plans, and battery sizing based on tender requirements
• Prepare Bills of Materials and define services required for proposal development
• Communicate directly with customers to design the best possible solution

• Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Automation
• 3 to 5 years of experience in electrical applications
• 2 to 3 years of experience in data center design or similar large-scale, complex projects
• Experience in electrical design and documentation development
• Familiarity with critical electrical equipment such as UPS systems, batteries, busways, and switchboards
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams
• Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
• Solution-oriented mindset
• Ability to translate customer needs and concepts into documented technical specifications
• Willingness to travel within the Benelux region for customer meetings and technical discussions
• Participation in training sessions at a Customer Experience Centre in Soest, Germany
