You light the way.More about the roleThis is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a CMF Lead in Eindhoven with Signify.We are looking for a CMF Lead to elevate our global design excellence by driving the vision, development, and implementation of advanced CMF strategies that align with our sustainability goals, technology roadmaps, and brand values.You will be part of the Signify Design team — the Center of Excellence for global Design within Signify. With the main hubs in Eindhoven, Shanghai, and Boston, we work at the forefront of lighting innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation.You’ll work closely with Industrial Designer and Exploration Design. You’ll also collaborate with Sustainability, Procurement, R&D, and Marketing functions to ensure CMF directions are viable, visionary, and impactful.Your responsibilities:
  • Shape and drive the CMF vision across several brands in close collaboration with designers, marketing, sustainability, and R&D — aligning with our identity, innovation, and circularity goals.
  • Build, apply, advocate and manage a global CMF palette of colors, materials, and surface finishes, including exploring and refining material performance in combination with different light effects (light sources, optics, dynamic light content etc.
  • Establish and curate a physical global CMF library and sample archive, ensuring accuracy and repeatability by measuring samples.
  • Support designers in their CMF choices and storytelling, guiding selection to balance sustainability, manufacturability, aesthetics, cost, and their visual behavior under light.
  • Stay ahead of material trends by liaising with suppliers and trend partners. and translating developments into future-forward mood boards and concepts to be used by the design team.
  • Champion and represent CMF across the organization within the design team and to colleagues in businesses: both for implementation as well as for advanced development / innovation ensuring consistent, expressive, and high-quality outcomes.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, CMF Design, Material Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in CMF design, preferably in product or consumer electronics industry.
  • Strong portfolio showing strategic CMF thinking, hands-on development, and implementation across global portfolios.
  • Experience with sustainable materials, finishes, and passion for circular design.
  • Strong visual storytelling, ability to inspire and guide others, from concept through implementation.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration skills across functions and fluency in English (spoken and written).
