You will be working close to the Financial services team,leading a line of lending products, part of Mambu SaaS banking platform core. As Mambu rapidly expands into different regions all over the world, we are keeping pace and introducing new features for customers. We also have scaling and performance tasks to handle and targets to reach thousands of concurrent transactions per second to/from deposit accounts for millions of active customers.Our vision is to empower people everywhere to create remarkable (daily) banking experiences for anyone beyond the predictable future. We do this by providing a SaaS banking platform that is open, supports rapid composability and does so reliably while constantly evolving.What you'll do
- Set a clear mission, principles, KPIs, and roadmap for the Lending product area, fully aligned with tribe objectives.
- Partner with product, architecture, and operations to deliver features that meet customer, regulatory, and performance needs.
- Embed tech debt reduction as a strategic priority, ensuring the platform evolves with lower maintenance overhead and higher adaptability.
- Champion AI-augmented development approaches—such as AI-assisted coding, test generation, and documentation—to increase throughput, shorten cycle times, and improve quality.
- Drive adoption of strong engineering practices: pair programming, test-driven development, CI/CD optimisations, automated quality gates, and peer reviews.
- Build a high-autonomy, high-alignment culture with streamlined decision-making and effective cross-team collaboration.
- Ensure operational readiness, cost efficiency, performance, scalability, and compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
- Represent Lending engineering in strategic discussions with customers, executives, and other stakeholders.
- 10+ years building and operating SaaS, cloud-native, API-driven platforms; ideally in banking, fintech, or other regulated sectors.
- 5+ years of hands-on Java engineering and cloud technologies before moving into senior leadership roles.
- Proven ability to scale distributed systems with high performance, resilience, and cost control.
- Demonstrated success in addressing technical debt while maintaining or increasing delivery velocity.
- Experience applying AI tools and data-driven engineering metrics to improve productivity and code quality.
- Strong leadership skills—trusted by teams and stakeholders to drive change and deliver results.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage confidently with executives, customers, and global teams.
- Comfortable leading in a remote-first, multi-time-zone environment.
