Function descriptionThis position supports a high-performing sales and service organization by delivering technical expertise throughout the lifecycle of specialized dredging equipment. The Service Engineer plays a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships by providing commissioning, maintenance, training, and repair services-both on-site and remotely.The work is based in Nijkerk but includes extensive international travel (up to 50% of the year), often requiring independent problem-solving in challenging environments. The engineer will be the operational link between customers and the broader technical team, acting as the eyes and ears on the ground.Key Responsibilities:
  • Commission and deliver dredging equipment to global clients
  • Assemble systems, perform scheduled maintenance, and resolve critical malfunctions
  • Conduct training sessions on equipment operation, assembly, and upkeep
  • Prepare detailed reports and handle administrative tasks related to service projects
RequirementsSkills & Experience:
  • Practical, proactive, and goal-oriented mindset
  • Strong command of English and cultural adaptability - Dutch is a plus
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 40-50% of the year
  • Technical MBO-4 degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • Experience with control systems and automation
  • Proven track record in international service roles
  • Background in heavy mechanical engineering or dredging is a strong advantage
