- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Facility Management, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in health and safety (e.g., OSHA, VCA) and emergency response (BHV) preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facility management, health and safety, or a related role.
- Valid Dutch Prevention Officer certification (Prevention Officer) is a plus.
- Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
- In-depth knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations, particularly in the Netherlands.
- Working in pharma or food environment

- Effective leadership and communication abilities to manage a team of BHV responders and interact with employees at all levels.
- Ability to assess risks and develop preventive measures.

- Oversee general facility operations, including maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Ensure that the facility is compliant with legal regulations related to environmental sustainability and workplace safety.
- Manage facility-related vendors and service contracts (e.g., cleaning, security, HVAC, etc.).
- Develop and manage the facility's annual budget and ensure cost-effective practices.
- Ensure proper maintenance of facility systems, including lighting, HVAC, and waste management.
- Implement and manage EH&S policies and programs to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations.
- Report on safety incidents and accidents, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with incident reporting standards.
- Organize and lead safety training programs for employees, ensuring everyone is aware of safety procedures and emergency protocols.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the workplace's safety performance.
- Serve as the Head of the BHV (Bedrijfshulp verlener) emergency response team.
- Coordinate emergency response plans and drills (including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and first aid).
- Maintain and update emergency response documentation, ensuring the facility is well-prepared for emergencies.
- Provide guidance and support to BHV members to ensure they are adequately trained and equipped.
- Act as the designated Prevention Officer, identifying potential workplace hazards and taking preventive measures to minimize risks.
- Maintain and implement health and safety policies in line with Dutch regulations and company standards.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and communicate with management regarding any risks or safety concerns.
