This position is in the brand's menswear division. Based in the Amsterdam European headquarters, the team is split into sub teams: Design, Production, Product Development, Buying & Planning and Merchandising & Sales.
These teams work together in an informal setting to create superbly styled and high-end quality products for a global consumer base. The brand presents 4 collections per year (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter).The position
As a Technical Developer working in the menswear Division, you will be part of the technical team creating and executing seasonal collections for the product category “Flat Knits”. You will work closely with the Flat Knit Designers, Product Developers and the Merchandise team for the planning and development of each seasonal collection.Some main responsibilities for this position include:
- Responsible for creating and controlling sample specs from initial concept sketch to bulk production.
- Communicate and work closely with Designer and Product Developer to interpret sketches & styling, collection overviews and achieve shared deadlines and margins.
- Working closely with Merchandising to understand the market needs and how best to interpret and implement these requested within the collection.
- Control and maintain a consistent block library and driving any seasonal block refresh amendments across the supply base.
- Liaising with European and Asian vendors and overseas buying offices.
- Sample tracking and in-house sample management.
- Handling of daily issues in end-to-end technical development process; including spec development, fitting, vendor support & maintaining quality standards.
- Drive fit meetings including capturing comments, changes & communicating these internally and externally.
- Has 4+ years of experience in the technical development of Flat Knit product.
- Has a higher education certificate in fashion technology/garment technology/pattern cutting.
- Must have a solid knowledge of Knit Structure & Gauges, Yarns & Quality, Stitches & Construction - all specific to Flat Knit product creation.
- Has an eye for silhouette & Flat Knit technical fit and construction.
- Is capable of working in a highly productive, demanding environment with a practical and pro-active mentality.
- Is fluently in English, both written and verbally
- Is excellent with Microsoft Office computer skills
- Must have strong organization and communication skills.
