At Unilabs, our mission is to be at the heart and start of all effective treatment decisions. As a Quality Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our operations are safeguarded by robust quality and risk management frameworks. You will work closely with the management team and board to advise on, implement, and oversee quality and risk policies, ensuring compliance with internal standards, industry regulations, and Dutch law.You will report directly to the Head of Quality, and provide functional guidance to document controllers, supporting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence across the organization.Responsibilities1. Development & Implementation of Quality and Risk Management Policy
  • Advise on the development and rollout of quality and risk policies.
  • Collaborate with the Knowledge Center (KC) to define principles and contribute to annual and activity plans.
  • Draft implementation plans and oversee their execution across the organization.
  • Actively participate in working groups and cross-functional projects.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on internal processes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of policies and recommend improvements.
2. Safeguarding & Evaluation
  • Maintain and update quality assurance tools such as the quality manual.
  • Manage the quality documentation system, ensuring documents are accurate and accessible.
  • Train department leads and specialists on drafting quality documentation; develop SOP templates.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness through advice, communication, and coaching.
  • Define quality metrics and performance indicators with the controller.
  • Plan and facilitate internal and external audits and monitor follow-up actions.
  • Oversee the incident reporting system and generate regular management reports.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual reports as well as management reviews.
  • Coordinate with quality officers from partner organizations.
  • Participate in relevant improvement initiatives and meetings.
3. Application Management
  • Ensure availability and performance of quality system applications.
  • Act as the main contact for application maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Train staff and manage user authorizations for quality systems.
  • Gather feedback on user needs and recommend improvements.
  • Validate and test application updates.
  • Collaborate with software vendors and advise on new acquisitions or upgrades.

  • Bachelor's degree (HBO level) in a relevant field, with specialization in quality management.
  • Sound understanding of quality management systems and methodologies (e.g., INK model, PDCA cycle).
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidelines.
  • Proficient in quality management software and documentation systems.
  • Keeps up to date with trends and best practices in quality and risk management.
  • Familiarity with Medlon’s organizational structure and processes is a plus.
