We also build new ventures and non-profit organizations that remove critical barriers and lead to transformational change.About the InternshipMetabolic is looking for an intern to support research and strategic design efforts across a range of projects involving place-based, bioeconomic transitions. Our work always involves good research to understand context, solution pathways, precedent, and what is possible and feasible. It can also involve identifying innovative financing and governance models, as well as creating business cases.In your role, you will:
  • Conduct and summarize research on relevant pathways, technologies, organizations, and initiatives
  • Explore innovative forms of financing and governance
  • Identify case studies and best practices to harvest more deeply
  • Help build out workshops and educational tools
The internship starts in December 2025 or January 2026 (flexible), and should last for six months. It requires four to five days of work per week. This internship provides a stipend amounting to €877.59/month pro-rata (based on 40 hours per week).RequirementsAn ideal intern is someone who is enrolled in a relevant course, has a background in hard sciences or engineering and an interest in entrepreneurship. We're looking for someone that falls within the following criteria:
  • Enrolled in a degree program (please mention your expected graduation date in your CV)
  • Entrepreneurial, pro-active character
  • Great research skills
  • Great English writing skills
  • Familiarity with the agrifood system and the broader bioeconomy
Eligibility CriteriaTo be eligible for an internship with Metabolic, the following criteria must be met (non-negotiable):
  • Enrolled for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Have a residence permit in the Netherlands (valid for working purposes and the entire duration of the internship)
  • Have, or be able to request, a BSN (burgerservicenummer/citizen service number.
