Principal Software Engineer

- Translating new developments to new IAI applications and system specifications
- Co-determine the system architecture of IAI's products
- Developing software, from specification to software to testing to documentation and training
- Delivering secure software according applicable standards and secure software
- development cycle
- Leading the software colleagues to improve and maintain quality of software, updates and work-processes
- Improving field performance and customer satisfaction by supporting training, transferring knowledge support on technical questions and solving software related issues
- Mentoring and teaching (software) colleagues, spreading expertise across departments
- Building and supporting a software development and delivery system that ensures high quality and secure software
- Supporting the Engineering Leaders to structure the sprints, planning and in building business cases
- Proven experience in software development of C# hardware applications
- Preferred experience in software development of C, python, QnX and other software applications
- Project management skills with a proactive and practical approach
- Ability to effectively communicate in the Dutch and English language, both verbally and in writing
- Deep understanding of software in relation to hardware applications, especially in C#
- Proven experience with product development and industrialization processes of machines
- Ability to create high quality, secure software from customer requirements and security demands
- Capable of translating general product requirements into technical specifications to create alignment with internal staketholders and software team
- Proficiency in developing and implementing software solutions
- Knowledge and use of other software languages like C, C++, python, Blazor, etc.
- Experience in application of windows operating systems
- Comprehensive experience in delivering secure software
- Supporting successful software build, testing and implementation for existing machine product lines
- Awareness of standards and best practices
- Exhibits technical leadership
- Ability to lead and aspire software colleagues, delivering a fitting solution
- Show technical leadership and delivery aligned to agreed roadmaps
- Self-sufficient in getting the information required
- Strong focus on improving customer satisfaction and field performance
- Proactive attitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations, project plans, and technical documents
- Effective in imparting knowledge and skills to others
- Works with team members and within their group to identify areas for learning or mentoring opportunities
- Actively supports junior team members by coaching and mentoring them
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Understands the tradeoffs between technical, analytical and product needs and leads peers/group to solutions that take all of these needs into account
