The project will also include an assessment of the effectiveness and accesibility of existing vaccines and treatments and identify gaps in current preventive and therapeutic measures.
The final derivable will be a list of relevant diseases prioritised according to importance for animal and public health, including the available control tools (with special focus on vaccines). This will allow to identify existing gaps and reflect on the role of the Agency to support the development and authorisation of products. The outcome could be published in the Agency website and/or a scientific or regulatory publication.This project aims to identify emerging animal diseases and other relevant diseases of importance for animal (and potentially human) health and carry out a gap analysis to prioritise these, based on defined parameters, and to evaluate the availability of vaccines (both centrally and nationally authorised) and (possibly) other therapeutic measures to treat or prevent these diseases, within the One Health context.Learning outcomesThrough this traineeship, the trainee will :
- improve his/her knowledge in toxicology, and in the classification of active substances used in medicines.
- gain knowledge of the legislative frameowork related to the safety of veterinary medicines for the consumers of food of animal origin
- gain experience of reviewing and understanding scientific regulatory reports
- gain experience of working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment
- enjoy full rights as a citizen of a European Union Member State or Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway;
- possess a university degree in life sciences (preferably a Veterinary degree) (minimum of three years or more) that must have been obtained between 30 September 2024 and 30 September 2025 or be a university student on an Erasmus + or a similar programme or a PhD student or a Master's student with a previous fully finished degree in the areas mentioned before.
