- Deal Sourcing & Origination: Proactively identify, research, and evaluate potential acquisition targets, strategic partners, and investment opportunities that complement our existing business or enable entry into new markets. You'll cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders and relevant external partners.
- End-to-End Deal Execution: Lead all phases of the M&A lifecycle, ensuring successful outcomes:
- Financial Analysis & Valuation: Conduct rigorous financial modeling, build compelling business cases, and perform comprehensive valuation analysis (e.g., discounted cash flow, comparable company/transaction analysis), including synergy assessments.
- Due Diligence: Spearhead and manage comprehensive due diligence processes (financial, legal, commercial, operational, tax, HR) in close collaboration with internal and external experts.
- Deal Structuring & Negotiation: Support negotiations for deal terms, definitive agreements, and integration plans to achieve optimal outcomes for HARMAN.
- Transaction Management: Oversee project plans, timelines, and resources for complex transactions, ensuring efficient and timely execution.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with senior leadership, business unit heads, and cross-functional teams throughout the entire M&A process to ensure seamless integration and value realization post-acquisition.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitive landscapes, and industry developments to inform strategic decisions and identify emerging opportunities.
- Post-Merger Integration (PMI) Support: Work closely with integration teams to ensure the successful onboarding of acquired entities and the achievement of strategic objectives.
- An MBA degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field is required.
- At least 8 years of overall related work experience, with at least 5 years directly focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). Direct experience within a corporate development team of a multinational corporation is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience leading and successfully executing complex M&A transactions across the entire deal lifecycle.
- Proven experience working in a global, cross-functional, and cross-time zone environment, demonstrating strong cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
- A skilled and articulate communicator, able to distill complex information into clear, concise verbal and written presentations for all levels of the business and diverse cross-functional teams.
- Have or making progress toward CFA.
- Industry related knowledge and experience in automotive, consumer electronics.
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, including international travel, as required for deal execution and relationship building.
- Ability to be in the office when required (e.g., HARMAN offices in Munich for deal execution and relationship building, as specified in your original requirements).
