- Identifying subsystem domains for fluid, solids and their interfaces.
- Determining relevant physics, material models, and boundary conditions.
- Create models in commercial packages (Ansys/COMSOL/StarCCM)
- Parse mesh, material, boundary condition data to MATLAB.
- Create ROM/s for fluid domain.
- Create ROM/s for fluid-structure interfaces.
- Propose a general and streamlined workflow for performing such analyses.
- Document all steps and findings in a comprehensive report.
- Is pursuing a Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (Applied Math/Physics are also encouraged to apply) with a focus on Computational Fluids Mechanics.
- Has a solid understanding of continuum mechanics, particularly fluid-structure interactions.
- Is proficient in classical numerical methods and linear algebra.
- Has some experience with commercial simulation tools such as Ansys/COMSOL/StarCCM.
- Is skilled in scripting and rapid prototyping using MATLAB.
- Possesses strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
- You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
- You need to be located in the Netherlands to be able to perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
- If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
