- Ensures that the laboratory’s tasks are carried out efficiently and in such a way that requirements regarding safety, quality, environment, cost consciousness, 5S are met.
- Leads a small team of QC Laboratory Technicians tasked with daily quality control and release of production batches and raw materials.
- Accountable for the validity of the laboratory data by reviewing and analyzing the data and making sure all Lab equipment are well maintained and calibrated if required.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with Analytical Chemistry including chromatography (HPLC) required for new method development and implementation in the Lab based on R&D Tech transfers for new product introductions.
- Writes and approves work procedures/instructions for the Lab and records production processes in production batch cards.
- Maintains the ISO 9001 management system, conducts audits and contributes to the annual management review of the site.
- Works with the Arxada Global Quality team for the harmonization of policies and procedures.
- Leads root cause investigations in case of production problems, quality deviations, customer complaints and initiates corrective and preventive actions.
- Member of the site management team with combined responsibility for policy proposals, the definition of goals for the site, and implementation of the quality policy.
- Supervises the dispatch of samples in the legally prescribed manner (Limited Quantities / Excepted Quantities).
- Keeps track of external developments, especially with a view to improving quality (service) and efficiency (costs).
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry is preferred) with a few years of experience.
- A minimum of 3 years work experience (managing preferred) Laboratory, Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance is an advantage.
- Hands on experience with HPLC, troubleshooting and method development and validation.
- Experience with tools for data analysis, trend analysis, statistics and root cause investigation (Six Sigma tools).
- Strong team player with collaborative skills for working in local and global teams.
- Strong analytical thinking and excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and manage multiple internal stakeholders.
