And as one, we deliver.The Freight Sourcing and Procurement Lead Specialist is the crucial position between our customers and operations to make sure we run a profitable organization with quality vendors against the right price. By running an effective Procurement coordinator role, we are in control of our vendor spent and maximizing our margins, have minimized the risk with solidly formulated vendor quotations, or contracts and SLA´s in place on all our major vendors and are we able to send a quick and quality respond on quotes from existing and new customers for any freight costs purchased in our area Benelux, France, Spain, Purtugal, Switzerland and Italy.Aside the procurement part the role has product components, which include development, update of forwarding products, collecting and sharing market information for freight forwarding products (ocean, land, air) out of country perspective.Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:
  • Further set-out and support role out of our global and EMEA vendor strategy
  • Procuring, maintaining relationships, auditing, contractual agreements and supporting in operational disputes
  • Performing vendor management
  • Providing and maintaining database for negotiation rates
  • Determining local Sell rate in line with market and our strategy
  • Supporting in translating buy into sell
  • Providing instructions to Operations about the buy rates & sell rates & service provider & service details where a rate inquiry results in award of business
  • Supporting operations or create FOB Quotes for operations
  • Responding and providing input for tender from KAM, Sales, IFS and other key stakeholders
  • Creating and maintaining customer tariffs for our regular customers
  • Supporting on Inside Sales activities
  • Collecting market information, supporting IFS with country related market information for commercial / client updates
  • Any ad-hoc task if required
Qualifications:Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Proven experience in the logistics industry, preferably as an operator or in product /procurement
  • Experience as procurement coordinator or manager in the logistics is a big plus
  • Effective communication, orally and in writing
  • Strong trouble shooter
  • Hands on mentality
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Good skills of Office tools (Excel)
  • Ability to manage daily tasks and prioritize activities
  • Ability to deal with the interests of the customers and the interests of APLL
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
